Miracle Healing and Christianity
Miracle Healing and Christianity
A significant number of people have been exposed to Christianity so many times that they have already developed an aversion to it. They are influenced by anti-Christian propaganda in the media and in intellectual circles, and they are even more resistant to the message of Christ than are people who never hear about him. In these cases, it is important to remember that the Bible is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ religion.
The biblical understanding of the human person emphasizes the connection between soul and body. As such, Christ’s ministry focuses on saving the human soul as well as the physical body. The miracles of Jesus testify to his deity and compassion for those in need. The gospel accounts include many accounts of his healings and exorcisms.
The first Christians were scattered throughout Palestine, and the disciples spread the good news of Christ’s message. The apostle Philip, who had been ordained as a deacon, had great faith, and was used by Jesus to heal the sick. He also cast out demons and performed miracles, and many people were possessed by unclean spirits.
The Christian church is the true Church of God. It practices the way of life taught by Jesus, and is based on his foundational instructions. It also practices the inspired teachings of the Apostle James. The Church is the beginning of the unfolding of God’s Kingdom in all of creation.
