Miracle Healing in Christianity
Christianity is the world’s largest religion, with 2.8 billion followers. It is a monotheistic Abrahamic religion. It is based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
The apostles were commanded to preach the gospel to everyone. They traveled through Palestine and preached the message of Christ. They healed the sick and cast out demons. They spoke in tongues. They received the gift of the Holy Ghost. They baptized believers.
The Bible contains instructions on how to exorcise demons. They also tell us to pray that God will forgive sins. The believer-priest, however, can not destroy the consciousness of sin or pronounce absolution for past sins. Nevertheless, it is true that the prayer of faith will save a person from committing sin.
The Book of Acts narrates the time when believers spoke in tongues. It was not a doctrinal treatise, but a historical document. It was written as proof that God had laid the foundation for the church.
The apostolic Church believed that doctors were not evil, and that medical science was a good thing. It also prayed for the sick. It baptized believers in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It gave them the power to heal. It was not afraid of the word of the Lord.
The Twelve Apostles cast out demons, prayed over the sick, and laid hands on people to heal them. The healing was a sign of heaven. It showed that the Lord was present and active.
