Christianity – Miracle Healing and Global Spiritual Warfare

Christianity is a religion based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. It is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion that has over 2.38 billion followers worldwide. The faith is centered on the gospel of justification through faith in Christ.

“Global spiritual warfare” refers to an intense battle between Christians and demonic powers that hold sway over entire nations. The fight involves prayer as a political praxis and apocalyptic visions. These are portrayed as violent, and can even induce a loss of consciousness.

One group of theologians pushed this idea, and it was also introduced by the Church Growth movement. It was an attempt to refocus on the effectiveness of evangelical strategy. They argued that western Christians had fallen prey to scientific naturalism and were missing the spiritual Real.

The doctrine of spiritual warriors claims that Christian prayers can determine the outcome of the end-times cosmological battle between God and Satan. This doctrine has been accused of elevating believers to a God-like stature and absolving them of responsibility for sin.

Despite the doctrine, there is no biblical example of how to exorcise demons. Scripture tells us that salvation is by grace through faith, and not by works. However, there are instructions in the Epistles about how to fight the forces of the enemy.

Healings in the Bible are rarely recorded for minor aches and pains. For example, when apostle Paul heals his friend Epaphroditus, he does not heal him to keep him healthy.
