The Sacrament of Anointing
The Bible teaches that the human person consists of both body and soul. Jesus came to save both. The gospels record Jesus’ healing of many sick people. But these healings are not the only benefits of this sacrament. They also show that people who are passionate about God are more likely to become a vessel for God. This powerful instrument for bodily healing and spiritual strengthening is known as the sacrament of anointing.
According to the Bible, the apostles passed down power to their followers. Some of these power was passed down from the Lord. Jesus healed many sick people, cast out demons, and healed the sick. Yet, the apostles did not perform these miracles. These actions were to point to the apostles as messengers of God. If the apostles had been acting in God’s name, we’d be able to distinguish them from those who were simply acting for their own gain.
The apostles of Christ established the early church after his death and resurrection. They preached the gospel to the people. In addition to preaching the gospel, they also performed miracles, including raising the dead and casting out demons. These acts were recorded in the New Testament, Matthew and Acts. In addition, they were granted the power to heal other people and cast out demons. These are just some of the amazing ways that Jesus’ followers demonstrated his power and authority.
