Miracles in Christian Life
Miracles in Christian Life
Miracles are a big part of Christian life and the Bible includes many examples of Jesus’ miracles. Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, and fed five thousand people. Many people believe that walking in faith will prevent sickness. However, it is important to remember that these miracles occurred only in the presence of Jesus.
Prophecy is often described as a form of teaching, and the Bible teaches that it should be performed in the context of edifying the church. Prophecy and teaching are linked in 1 Corinthians 14:4 where the Lord calls prophecy a ministry. Prophecy should be preceded by the approval of church leaders before it is proclaimed.
The apostles were given power to heal people. In fact, in Matthew 10:8, Jesus mentions that his disciples were to cast out unclean spirits. Apparently, the apostles did not heal Epaphroditus, but the power of healing was given to them. Moreover, Christians are supposed to pray for those who are sick.
Jesus went on a journey to a country called Gerasenes. There, he came across a man who had a demon-possessed spirit. Often, he had been beaten or chained, but Jesus broke the shackles and gave him complete freedom. The man’s condition became so unbearable that he cried out day and night, slicing himself with stones.
