I baptized you with water, but it is he who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Simply put, the Pharisees and their exponent, rabbinic Judaism refused to credit the Sadducees with any relevance. In effect the intention of the rabbis and Sages was to write out of history the important contributions the Sadducees made towards the development of the Jewish people. This greeting in many places has now been deemed to be politically incorrect and many Civil servants in the western world are mandated to use the phrase “Happy Holidays” instead.
