Miracles and Christianity

Christianity is based on the idea that miracles occur as an outward manifestation of God’s presence. During His ministry, Jesus performed miracles. But miracles were not the only way to show God’s presence. He also gave His apostles the power to cast out demons, heal the sick, and raise the dead. These were not self-authenticating tests, but were meant to point to them as messengers of God.

The Bible is considered the foundation of the Christian faith. Many Christians believe that God’s word has power over all things in the universe. The Bible is also filled with miracles. However, it is important to remember that the Bible does not have a flat line of miracles. There are many clusters of miracles.

When Jesus called the twelve disciples, He gave them the power to cast out devils and heal the sick. He also declared that anything they asked in His name would be done. Although this was a limited power, this power became fully operational when the Holy Spirit came. This occurred on the day of Pentecost.

In addition, the Holy Spirit does not allow demons to settle comfortably in a Christian. Because the Holy Spirit rules the human body, demons cannot settle comfortably in a Christian. Likewise, human beings without the indwelling of God are vulnerable to being possessed by evil spirits.
