Miracle Healing and Christianity

Christianity is a religion based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. It is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion that is practiced by a global community of 2.38 billion followers.

One-third of the world’s population are Christians. They are committed to a faith that is not just a decision, but an active, persistent commitment to following Jesus. The church has a strong emphasis on evangelism. Evangelism is the sharing of the good news of Christ with unbelievers.

Charismatic Christians understand that they are in the middle of a huge war with demons. The spiritual warriors doctrine elevates believers to almost godlike status. Many critics allege that the doctrine is scripturally illogical and that it leads to unhealthy obsession with demonic enemies.

“The Response,” organized by charismatic wing leaders, is a massive prayer rally to launch presidential campaigns. It features prophetess Cindy Jacobs and was funded by Alice Patterson and Jim Garlow.

Although the Christian Right has become a formidable force in American politics, it is often portrayed as an anti-modernist irrationality. In fact, evangelicalism has always been diverse and complex.

For instance, while the Bible is full of miraculous cures, apostles did not do many of the same. Their miracles were limited to casting out demons, healing the sick and raising the dead.

However, some claim to have special gifts of healing. These claims are often accompanied by a long list of statistics, which may or may not be true. Others say that it is not unusual to have a gift of healing.
