Miracles of Christianity

Christianity is the world’s largest religion with a total of 2.38 billion followers worldwide. It is based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth and his teachings. The Bible teaches that salvation is by grace through faith.

The Bible also teaches that the Church is the continuation of Jesus’ ministry in the world. One of the major objectives of the Church is to preach the gospel. Healing is an integral part of the proclamation of the Christian message.

A number of healings were reported by the apostles in the Book of Acts. While some claimed to have the ability to heal, many others were caught in the act of chicanery.

There were two notable miracles, the first was Jesus turning water into wine at Cana. The second was a miraculous healing of a man who was bedridden for eight years.

The earliest church prayer, as recorded in Acts 4, focused on the miracle of healing. This included raising the dead and casting out unclean spirits.

There were a number of other miracles, the most important of which was the one Jesus performed to confirm his divinity. He commissioned twelve disciples to go on the first evangelistic mission. These men were James, son of Alphaeus, Simon the Canaanite, Judas Iscariot, and Boanerges.

Despite these impressive feats, the aforementioned one was only mentioned in passing. To be fair, this was a biblical miracle. But it was the miracle of Jesus’ ability to raise the dead that truly sparked the interest of his disciples.
