The Early Church and Miracle Healing
The Early Church and Miracle Healing
The early Church was largely made up of apostles who spread the message of Christ. They often had power over demons and diseases, and performed many miracles. These healings were performed in private homes, but their influence was widespread. In the first century, the Christian Church added half a million new converts per generation.
As Christianity spread in Africa, indigenous African people began reading the Scriptures. They saw miracles performed by God and believed in the power of his Word. As the gospel spread, indigenous churches were born. These were precursors to today’s Pentecostal movements. But the early Church of Christ did not take the gospel to Africa without any challenges.
While we cannot see God, we can have a personal relationship with Him through a personal experience with Him. For example, Jesus healed the sick, had power over demons, and rose from the dead. These miracles point us to him as the true messenger of God. In addition, Jesus’ example of morality challenges us to become better people.
According to the Bible, believers should preach the gospel to all creatures. This way, they will overcome sickness and demons. They will also speak with new tongues and pick up serpents. They won’t get hurt by deadly substances.
