Christian Deliverance – Casting Out Demons, Healing the Sick and Raising the Dead

Christian deliverance, casting out demons, healing the sick

Jesus told his followers that they would do the same miracles as he did. In fact he instructed them to heal the sick and even raise the dead. In addition, when a person is ill or hurting, they should call for the elders of the church to lay hands upon them, pray over them and anoint them with oil (James 5:14ff). This richly symbolic act sets one apart by God through His Spirit in preparation for the special miracle of divine healing.

Christianity is the largest religion on the planet with over 2.2 billion believers worldwide. It has a wide range of practices including fasting, marriage, Holy Communion, Pilgrimage and other celebrations like Christmas.

Unlike some other faiths, Christians believe that there is a definitive description of what it means to be human, a scheme or experience called salvation or redemption. This belief begins with the fact that Jesus was Jewish and a monotheist, and it continues with the fact that Jesus’ life and ministry were shaped by his experience of being human.

In the 3rd through 6th century Christians began to meet in councils and develop statements of faith, confessions and creeds in an effort to find what they viewed as the essence of Jesus’ participation in God. This search led to a concentration on ideas, to beliefs about and not just beliefs in, and to a desire for clarity in understanding and expressing what is true.
