Is it true that it is proper and right that we be treated better? Absolutely, but is it also true that we do not “deserve” to be treated better? The answer to that question is an emphatic yes. If we got what we deserve we would all be destined to be separated from God for all eternity. Can you see the difference between what the word of God tells us to be and to do to others and what the idea that we “deserve” to be treated better is? If you and I cannot see this difference we have not come to know the iniquity of our own hearts.

Several months ago, I wrote an article about the possibility of life on Mars, and suggested that it would be problematic for the Catholic Church, as it might throw a wrench in their storyline and the belief systems of many of their followers. Interestingly enough, I was challenged on my comments by a young Deacon who was doing some research online. He asked; whatever gave me that idea – that the Catholic Church said there are no extraterrestrials? He indicated that the Church hadn’t made up its mind and didn’t have an official statement either way.

Sin Is a Choice

God is not involved in any sins we commit. He sees and knows about them, but He is not participating in any of them. He allows sin to happen in our lives because hopefully sooner than later we will open our hearts and eyes to want to change and be cleansed from all unrighteousness.
