What Is Christianity?

Christianity is the world’s biggest religion, based on the life of Jesus and the teachings he gave his followers. It’s also a faith tradition with many practices including prayer, fasting, marriage and funerals, holy communion, pilgrimage and celebration of certain days of significance such as Christmas and Easter.

Many Christians believe that Jesus is both fully human and fully divine. This is known as the incarnation and is central to Christianity. It’s also what makes Christians so distinctive compared to other religious traditions as they see God in a way that is very different from how most other people do.

Christians believe that Jesus has the power to heal anyone who is sick or has a problem. The best known story of healing a sickness is the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed. This is considered miracle healing and the faith healer is believed to have a special connection to Jesus that gives them this ability to heal.

The Christian belief is that people will be allowed to enter Heaven or Hell depending on their actions in this life and their faith in Jesus. Most Christians follow the teachings of the Bible which includes kindness and forgiveness. They also believe that God is the creator of the universe and is all powerful. They believe that Jesus’s death on the cross paid for our sins so we can live forever with him. This is called salvation.
