Deliverance Ministry in Modern Christianity

In the early days of Christianity, deliverance ministry was common, as Jesus gave authority to his disciples to cast out demons and cast out unclean spirits. In fact, he even gave his disciples authority to bind strong men who were held captive by demonic powers. Jesus taught that when demonizing spirits were cast out, the Kingdom of God would manifest. When this happened, he would send out the Holy Spirit. But in our day, many professing Christians do not even study the Bible or look to it as their authority. Instead, they tend to follow traditions and teachings of men. If you have ever been to a tent meeting of various “evangelists”, you know that these are full of mass hysteria, but often lack real healing.

It is important to note that the apostles performed their miracles only in the presence of Christ. They were not given the power to perform the miracles of feeding the 5,000 or walking on water. Instead, they were given the power to heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead. These miracles were to help believers recognize them as messengers of God. This is because people who claimed to be speaking for God had to know who was real.

Christians have also claimed to possess supernatural powers such as healing people, and they have used this power to teach others about the power of faith. Historically, many people claimed to possess these abilities and were caught using chicanery to do so. Nowadays, people are no longer using this type of chicanery to promote their own powers; they simply pray and have faith and God does what He wants.
