The Fundamentals of Christian Faith

The Christian faith has many practices that are followed by a large number of people. Some are very common, some are more complex and others are only practiced by a smaller number of believers.

While there are a number of Christian faith groups that have different beliefs, most believe in the following core beliefs. These are called the fundamentals of christianity.

Deliverance

Christians believe that Jesus came to earth and was born of a virgin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead. Then He ascended into heaven. His death and resurrection marked the end of the old covenant with God’s people and the beginning of a new one. This covenant is based on grace and not law and offers free gift of salvation to all who believe.

Among the most important aspects of Christianity is belief in God’s word. The Bible is considered sacred and contains the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles. It is written in 66 ‘books’ and was compiled from the memories and writings of a large number of authors. Its central message is the teaching of Jesus that the primary purpose of life is to love God with all your heart, mind and soul and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Christians also believe that they have the power to cast out demons and heal the sick. This healing power comes from having a strong and continuous relationship with Jesus. Like the seven sons of Sceva casting out demons from a man, healing ministry involves rebuking the enemy in Jesus’ name and commanding it to leave.
