Christianity – Miracles and Deliverance

Christianity is a religion based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. It is an Abrahamic, monotheistic faith with 2.38 billion followers. There are many different forms of Christianity.

The Bible mentions several miracles performed by Christ, including raising a widow’s son from the dead. Healings are also mentioned in the Bible, though most of these occur in Christ’s presence.

The book of Acts is a historical account of the growth of the early church, from a few dozen followers in the first century to hundreds of millions of followers in the fourth. During the fifth century, some serious Christians fled urban corruption for the quieter sanctuaries of the countryside.

The book of Acts is not primarily a doctrinal guide, but it contains a few direct mandates for the church. For example, Peter commands the people to be baptized.

While this may seem like a cliche, water baptism was not a random act of piety, but a necessary part of receiving freedom from sin. Similarly, prayer for the sick was not a routine part of church services, but a time-consuming ritual.

The Bible tells us that some individuals were specially chosen by God to serve as a means of demonstration of His power and grace. As the church grew, it added half a million new converts every generation for three centuries.

Among these were some impressive healings. Anointing the sick with oil became a sacrament, and the miracle of raising the dead from the grave was more than just a tale of two cats.
