Why Aren’t We Suffering Persecution?

The question above should give you pause. I was listening to my bible on CD while travelling to work. This is my habit, and sometimes things jump out at me that I missed while reading the same text.

The Existence of God

We are constantly challenged by atheists, skeptics and hecklers to prove that there is a God. It is difficult for natural man to believe in something that he cannot see, touch or feel (1 Cor. 2:14).

Church Growth Principles

As a science, it requires measurement, research and evaluation. It is not ungodly to look at the facts. If the effectiveness of ministry is important to Christians, they will measure the results. Is the church growing? Are new members being added? Are they transfers from other churches, or do they include new Christians (Converts)? How many have been added this year as compared to last year? How many people are involved in weekly Bible Study? How many are trained to witness?

Christianity – Fit For Today?

Many people seem to have this notion that the gospel of Christ is a jaded, faded, outmoded and utterly irrelevant piece of religious jargon. Now, I know that many might like to express this with more vehement expletives, but even without them, you probably get my drift. Can I defend what many think is indefensible? Briefly this is what I offer here, for you to consider. But don’t forget I am going to try to engage your reason – are you ready to use it?

Through Highs and Lows God Bestows Strength In Our Weakness By Manifold Meekness

I have mused recently about the broad expanse of emotion that comes with this life. There are lows so painful it seems we can’t endure them. Yet, there are also highs so blissful we struggle to grasp the fullness of joy. Such is God’s love he wishes not to deprive us of any experience of life. Life is wide open and exposed to us, as we are before it. But in both of these places, and all between, God bestows strength… strength for praise, strength in our weakness, and, by this strength, the capacity for meekness.

Affordable Funerals Are Available to All Consumers

If you are pre planning your funeral or you are planning the funeral of a loved one, you are probably looking at costs wondering how people afford such expenses. The fact of the matter is that a lot of people break the bank in an attempt to have a grand funeral that will impress all those that come. Yet, this is not what funerals are all about.

Overcome Evil With Good

We all have to deal with interpersonal conflict at one time or another. But we don’t have to allow others to bring us down to their level. Rather, in this article, the writer explains how we can overcome evil with good.

My Very Best Friend

During my latest recuperation from lung cancer, I discovered a shockingly new, vibrant, and closer relationship with God in my everyday life. I have been a theologian for more than thirty years so this concept was not new, but the actuality of the application in my life was au courant and something that has to be shared with a Believers.

The Tower of Sunshine and the Sound of Gunfire

“Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:3-4. In Israel right now, the air is thick with talk of war.

Shofar Prices: What You Should Expect to Pay for Various Types of Shofar

If you’re in the market for a shofar, the most significant cost factor is length, which is typically measured around the outer curve. For a decorative shofar, expect to pay anywhere from $100 for a silver-plated ram’s horn shofar, to $400 or more for a sterling silver plated Yemenite shofar.

Coming Back to the Spiritual Life

The God-present spiritual life, where we are open to divine revelation, is the answer to all our woes. When we open our hearts and minds in ways to surrender ourselves to the wonder of life, even within pain, we can experience the peace of God that transcends our understanding.

Hope’s Like a Rainbow

Hope is one of those things we take for granted while we have it, but when life turns pear-shaped, and our minds and hearts are encased in fear, we cherish it all the more. Nothing seems more important than hope when we don’t have it. The depressed know this, and the anxious, too. For these, there has been plenty of rain in the midst of the storms of life. As the rainbow comes once the rain stops, our hope arrives the instant we bring a halt to the internal rain pelting our hearts. We pray. Hope arrives in the recognition that God is with us. We pray some more, thanking the Lord for Divine Presence.
