It was not only David that physically encountered lions in the bible. Samson and Daniel did. Remember how Samson grabbed a young lion that came to attack him on his way to Timnah, held it by the jaw and tore it into pieces. The bible said that the spirit of God came upon Samson and he killed the beast with bare hands just like a goat. Wow! Then, the legendary Daniel in the lions’ den; his fellow administrators in Persia, out of envy, manipulated King Darius to throw him into the lion’s den. But God sent His angels to shut the mouths of the beasts and they could not bark not to talk of attacking Daniel. That is the God we serve! He shuts the mouths of lions and withdraws the strength of our adversaries!

It is no revelation to most that the dictator of North Korea is not the coming antichrist. But it may open some eyes to compare Kim to the one described in the Bible.

Cain’s Wife Lilith’s Daughter

The enduring question has been: “Where did Cain get his wife?” The Bible actually describes the creation of two women for Adam. The first was Lilith (Genesis 1:27) but her name was removed from the current Bible. However her name can be seen in the older version of the Bible that existed before later day changes were made. The creation of Eve, Adam’s second mate, was created as described in Genesis 2:18. Lilith had several daughters one of which became Cain’s wife.

Our Neglected Calling

Evangelism is a two way street: it must reach those who were once part of the faith, but are now in the world, and then reach out to those who have been given the chance to be part of the family of God. Until we understand the Church’s calling we will continue to be ineffective.

There is an ongoing PBS TV series called “Closer to Truth”. It is hosted by neuroscientist Robert Lawrence Kuhn. He’s featured in one-on-one interviews and panel discussions with the cream of the cream of today’s cosmologists, physicists, philosophers, theologians, psychologists, etc. on all of the Big Questions surrounding a trilogy of broad topics – Cosmos; Consciousness; Meaning. Does Rampant Sex Herald The End?

Just when the Jews were getting ready to claim the Promised Land some of their men found the local women very appealing. God told their leader Moses to announce through an assembly that those who had sex with such women would be executed. Right on cue a Jewish man escorted his latest woman past the assembly and into his tent. A Jewish man was so enraged by this that he went to the tent and killed them both. St Paul found in this a foretaste of the end of the world when those who survive will enter a new Promised Land.
