The History of Christianity
The History of Christianity
Christianity is a religion based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. It is the world’s largest religion, with 2.38 billion followers. The faith is a monotheistic, Abrahamic religion.
The first 1000 years of church history witnessed nonstop battles with demons. The gospel preached that the kingdom of God was at hand. This message included a call for miracles. These signs were to follow the apostles and those who believed in the Lord.
After Jesus’ resurrection, the apostles began to travel the world preaching the Gospel. They performed miraculous healings and judgments. Those who trusted in Christ were freed from the power of evil.
The demons learned that they were no match for Jesus and that He was the Savior. As a result, they converged on Him to undo him. But God’s love drove them back.
The Spirit of the Eternal was given to the followers of Jesus on the day of Pentecost. It was a gift of divine equipment for Christ’s mission as the world Savior.
While healing was a part of the great message of salvation, it was not a prerequisite for salvation. Jesus preached that anyone who asked in His name would be healed. He instructed that the believer would become an ambassador for Him on earth.
Christians are seated with Jesus in the heavenlies. The gospel message that the dead would be raised and the kingdom of God would be ushered in was a major part of the gospel.
