The Callings of Christianity

Christianity, a religion based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth, has 2.38 billion followers worldwide. It is a monotheistic, Abrahamic religion. The Bible teaches that Jesus was the Son of God, was baptized, died, and rose from the dead.

Christians believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that they are called to obey it. Practicing obedience requires patience, wisdom, and consecration.

Believers are called to live victorious lives in every area of their life. They are called to give all of their resources to Christ. Giving to others means following Jesus, day in and day out, and letting His Word transform you.

Christians are called to preach the good news. That message focuses on forgiveness of sins and the promise of heaven. In addition, they are commanded to pray for the sick. This is because Jesus told his disciples to heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons.

When believers pray for the sick, they should ask the elders of the church to pray for them. Sick people should be given a chance to confess their sins and be forgiven. Otherwise, they are not expected to recover from their disease.

The Holy Spirit gives believers gifts. One of these is the gift of healing. Having the power to perform miracles is a special spiritual ability that was entrusted to the apostles.

Jesus healed people throughout the first century. He performed miracles to prove to enemies that he was the promised Savior. Eventually, the gift of healing grew to be a sacrament. During the Middle Ages, many Christians thought that healing was rare. But they believed that God wanted everyone to be healed.
