The Gifts of Deliverance

‘Charisms’ are gifts bestowed on people by God, for the purpose of involving them in building up the body of Christ. They are not necessarily signs of holiness. They are freely bestowed gifts to be used for the benefit of others.

The Bible outlines a number of charisms. Some of them are mentioned in the New Testament. Among them are: evangelism, healing, exorcism, miracles, prophecy, and speaking in tongues. The first letter to the Corinthians is a good example of these gifts.

Jesus Christ performed many miracles. In the New Testament, there are first-hand accounts of these miracles. The healing miracles are a strong testament to the power of God.

The ministry of healing is linked to the proclamation of the Christian gospel. However, some churches have chosen to ignore this aspect of church ministry. Others have falsified this ministry.

Christians in Africa claim miraculous experiences. These experiences shape their attitudes towards God and their outreach to non-Christians. They also shape their responses to trials and their responses to God.

A major tool for deliverance ministers is the bible. In particular, Jesus and Paul have accounts of physical supernatural events.

In addition, there are a number of New Testament writers who describe demons as living beings. These demons are not mere mortals but spiritual realities behind idolatry. These spirits can infiltrate Christians, unless they are rebuked by a minister who addresses them head-on.

Jesus gave his apostles the power to cast out unclean spirits. In his day, this was an important practice. The apostle Philip was an exorcism practitioner.
