The Basic Principles of Christianity

The most basic principles of Christianity are found in the bible. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the Son of God. The true Church of God believes and practices all that Jesus taught. It is guided by the inspired biblical teaching of the Apostle James, and practices a way of life based on the teaching of Jesus Christ. The Church of God also teaches that prayer can heal the sick and forgive sins.

The New Testament tells us that the Christ of the New Testament was confronted by the Devil, and demons cried out to him. It is important to recognize that Christ’s religion is very different from liberalism. This is because the Savior transcended his time. The gospel writers wanted people to be aware of demon activity, and the power of Jesus’ name over them.

The apostles had no power of their own, and were only able to perform miracles in Jesus’ presence. Miracles such as feeding the 5,000 or walking on water occurred only in the presence of Christ. The apostles had power to cast out demons, heal the sick, and raise the dead, but these acts were only given to them by God to point to them as messengers of God. Therefore, it was essential to know who was real and who was not.

Healing was also a huge part of the early church. It was a dramatic part of the Christian message, and people were drawn to it. However, Edward Gibbon reveals that the power of healing was withdrawn at some point in history. Nonetheless, Scripture indicates that the healing power may be poured out again as we approach the end of the age.
