The Christian Faith

The Christian faith is a worldwide movement of faith that has been in existence for several thousand years. It is the religion of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again. In the New Testament, we find several examples of people who gave up everything to follow him. The apostle James declares that the faith-filled prayer of a priest can save a sick person. This scripture is often translated as “salvation” or “bodily resurrection.”

There are many examples of Christians helping people in their time of need. Jesus was a renowned healer who touched the sick, as recorded in the Catechism. His healing powers continue today through the sacraments. In these rites, Jesus is present, in the Eucharist, the bread that gives life. There are two major sacraments that have great healing powers:

Those who follow Jesus are called to embrace the truth that the human person is divided into two parts: the soul and the body. Jesus came to save our souls, but He also came to save our bodies. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would raise the dead and heal the sick, but this is only possible with the help of the Holy Spirit.

During the nineteenth century, there were many breakthroughs in Christian beliefs. The Protestants experienced a revival and missionary movement on every continent. They reported “new births” and “second blessings” in which they were free from the power of sin and were sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Many Christians also claimed freedom from sickness.
