The Basics of Christianity

Christianity is based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. It is a monotheistic, Abrahamic religion with over 2.8 billion followers worldwide. This translates into one-third of the global population. It is also the largest religious group in the world.

The Bible tells us that salvation comes through grace and faith. It is through the gift of the Holy Spirit that Christ reproduces Himself in the believer. The apostles had a ministry of preaching the gospel, healing the sick, and casting out demons.

As Christians, we are called to be ambassadors for Christ. During the ministry of Jesus, the apostles healed many sick people. In Acts, we read about a crippled man who was healed through his faith.

When believers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, they become spiritually armed to fight the enemy. They have the spiritual authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, and perform miracles.

In the early church, it was common for believers to speak in tongues. However, this is not a mandate in the book of Acts.

There are instructions in the Epistles on how to exorcise demons. The believer has to use the name of Jesus to cast out evil spirits. They can also pray to be saved from sickness. But the believer can’t pronounce absolution for past sins.

The prophets’ call was answered by the heavens and earth. The apostolic Church was regarded without disgust by the physicians of the time.
