Christianity is the world’s largest religion. It is based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Currently, it is home to 2.38 billion followers. In terms of the global population, it represents one-third.

The history of Christianity is a history of miracles. These miracles were a result of the compassion of Jesus and the prayers of his disciples. Christians are called to give all to Christ. His teachings can transform you.

Jesus gave authority to his apostles to cast out demons. These were unique apostolic gifts. However, the gifts did not include the power to perform miracles like walking on water.

Miracles were also used to highlight the apostles’ mission as messengers of God. As a result, some churches avoided supernatural ministry. Others portrayed healings as foreign to Scripture.

The primary purpose of healings was to demonstrate holiness of those praying. Many Christians expected healing to be rare in the Middle Ages. After Constantine converted to Christianity, healings fell to the margins.

Many Christians believe that the gift of healing is not the same as the gift of sanctification. Despite this, some believers pursue supernatural experiences.

The earliest Christians were not healed. Instead, they experienced a “second blessing” when they were sanctified. This was the infilling of the Holy Spirit. This enabled Christians to overcome the pollution of sin.

Some Christians, however, believe that healing is a gift of the Holy Spirit. They say that when you give all to Jesus, he gives you the power to heal.
