What Is Christianity?
Christianity is a religion that focuses on the life, teachings and death of Jesus Christ.
Christians believe that God sent Jesus to restore the broken relationship between people and God that was caused by their wrong-doing. Christians also believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead, and that when Christians die, they can return to live with God in heaven.
Many people ask how God can allow suffering and pain to be part of a Christian’s life. This is a legitimate question and one that many of us have faced as we have watched a loved one deteriorate from a disease, or in an accident or other tragedy.
Casting Out Demons
The New Testament teaches that demons are powerful creatures who can harm, destroy and cause problems for people. The New Testament teaches that Christians can use the power of God to cast out demons and to heal the sick.
Healing the Sick
The Bible teaches that when Christians heal the sick, it is not just to help them feel better, but to demonstrate to others that they are in fact disciples of Christ. It is a sign to the world that Jesus has come to establish his kingdom on earth, and it is a witness to the fact that the reign of death has passed away, and that this age of futility is coming to an end (Romans 5:17; 8:20).
In addition, when a person is healed, it is often seen as a sign that the kingdom of God is invading the domain of darkness under Satan’s control. This is because the Kingdom of God has come to this world and it will engulf the evil forces of Satan and his demonic followers.
