Miracle Healing in Christianity

Christianity, the religion of Jesus Christ, is the world’s largest religion, attracting over 2.38 billion followers worldwide. It is based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth and is Abrahamic monotheistic in nature.

Throughout the history of Christianity, healings and miracles have been a part of the Church’s mission. The Church’s involvement in supernatural ministry began in the apostolic times. In the fourth century, the healing ministry started to decrease. However, miraculous revivals led by saints continued.

The Gospels tell many stories of healings and miracles. Some of the miracles were done by Jesus himself, and others were performed by the apostles. For example, the Gospel of Mark describes a man who was paralyzed, but was healed by Jesus. He also healed people with epilepsy and other diseases.

Jesus was also able to cast out demons. His disciples followed his teachings and lived them. They preached everywhere, and they were able to perform miracles. When he left, they continued his ministry.

During his ministry, Jesus dealt head-on with the evil that was prevalent in the hearts of men. The gospel writers assert that Jesus is stronger than any demons, and that his power is sufficient to overcome them. Likewise, they affirm that the Holy Spirit is at work in all spheres.

During his time, exorcism was a common practice. Many people brought sick people to Jesus, and he healed them. Afterwards, he gave his apostles the authority to cast out demons.
