The Essence of Christianity
Christianity is a worldwide religion that centers on the belief in Jesus Christ. It is one of the world’s largest faith traditions, with almost half of its members living in the 10 countries with the highest number of Christians.
The essence of christianity is that the Christian faith focuses on Jesus as the central figure in their tradition and as a reality that they encounter in a personal, intimate way. Many Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he saved them from sin and death by dying on the cross.
Christians also believe that he lives inside them as the Holy Spirit (John 14:23; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17). They believe that the triune God–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit–dwells within them and that the Holy Spirit daily conforms them to Christ’s image and likeness and guides them in their faith.
They are commanded by God to share the Good News of Jesus with others (the gospel), to believe and teach only biblical doctrine, and to live holy and pure lives in obedience to God’s commandments. They are encouraged to worship in churches, pray often, and give generously.
Deliverance and casting out demons
Christians have the authority to cast out demons in the Name of Jesus. They also have the power to remove objects, symbols, or places associated with witchcraft, sorcery, and magical arts from their possessions, homes, and churches. Nevertheless, it is important to remember that this power is not given to everyone and that some people do not have the gift of the Holy Spirit to enable them to effectively cast out demons.
