Miracle Healing in Christianity

Christianity is the world’s largest religion with 2.38 billion followers. It is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth.

Healing is one of the gifts that God has given to his children. He wants his children to live healthy and prosperous lives. When Christians have faith in Christ, they are healed.

During the apostolic era, apostles were given the power to heal, cast out demons, and raise the dead. However, they were limited in their powers. They did not heal like walking on water or perform miracles of nature. The apostles did not heal the sick, raise the dead, or cure all types of sickness.

Throughout the first 1000 years of church history, there were constant confrontations with demons. These confrontations helped open people to the need for the Lord. Without Jesus, people were helpless.

After the death and resurrection of Jesus, Christians are cleansed and raised with him. Those who reject him will be judged and subject to God’s judgment. During the time of Acts, there was no direct mandate for the church to speak in tongues.

One way to understand how God has a plan for his children is to look at what happened during the apostolic era. The church’s charisms of healing developed as well.

There were only two categories of apostolic gifts that could do miracles. These were prophets and evangelists. Each of these apostolic gifts was unique.

Paul had the gift to heal, but he didn’t use it. Likewise, Jesus used the Holy Spirit to heal.
